Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champions Amiibo Review

Booyah! Welcome to my lil’ space~

Today I will be unboxing and reviewing a few amiibos that I’ve been waiting for since June 2017. These amiibos was announced/made known during E3, along with the expansion pass for the game. I was so excited about it and THEY ARE FINALLY HERE SOBS. If you play the game, you will know the tragedy that happened to these 4 champions. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is seriously a 10/10. Just for this game, I picked up a Nintendo Switch in their first week of release. Reviews and ratings found online for this game says it all. Okay.. enough of my backstory haha let’s get on with the review. And I will be rating them at the end of the post!

I ordered these amiibos from Japan and it reached a few days ago. The box is similar to every other amiibo box. The moment you open it, the box is destroyed completely… WHY CAN’T THEY DESIGN IT LIKE OTHER NORMAL BOXES (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞  I mean yes there is a special code in every single amiibo for us to scan but it is possible to design it otherwise. Blurghhhh… But I have to say the art on the box is beautiful ( ´ ▽ ` )

First up is Urbosa, Champion of Gerudo, and pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris. She wields Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. In the game, I never used any of the Champion’s treasures. I was afraid that I might break the weapon as I’m too lazy to farm the parts to remake the weapon lel. ( ̄▽ ̄)

Main view/ Side view (I mean the original pose from Nintendo was like this so… But her Daybreaker shield is so pretty and even prettier in the game. Her hair is also carved out nicely):dsc_4799.jpg

Front view (You can see her thigh muscles… I wish I have such nice legs haha):dsc_4800.jpg

Side view (Her Scimitar of the Seven is like f***ing gorgeous and so are her shoes haha):dsc_4801.jpg

Scimitar view (Just a close up cause it is just too beautiful!!! But damn those abs and forearm muscles…):DSC_4807

Side view (That’s an icon of her divine beast on her blue scarf/dress. All champions wear blue clothing. Blue shirts are worn by Zelda and Link and blue scarves are worn by the 4 other champions.):DSC_4808

Up next is Daruk, Champion of Goron, and pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. He wields the Boulder Breaker. Remembering their backstory makes me sad (╥﹏╥) He is cutest among the 4 of them.

Main view/ Front view (… HE’S SO CUTEEEEE and he looks just like a kid somehow. He’s very well made. The details are just amazing. The chain that goes around him is painted so nicely. It gives off the rustic feel.)DSC_4825

Close up front view (The frown his forehead can even be seen. His teeth are carved out one by one and omg so much details on his face like seriously. His hands are carved out nicely too along with the accessories):DSC_4820

Side view (That’s an icon of his divine beast on his blue scarf. The scarf is made as though it is wrapped quite tightly around his body. His thigh muscles can be seen on his leg too but sometimes I wonder if he skips leg day…):dsc_4826.jpg

Back view (His Boulder Breaker is just to pretty and it is huge as compared to the other weapons): DSC_4823

Next is my favourite character Mipha, Champion and Princess of Zora, and pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. She wields the Lightscale Trident. She was in love with Link and Link didn’t know it till like 100 years later… She has the little sister character but yet so elegant. Someone who I’ll never be hahaha.

Main view/ Side view (The silver ornaments on her head, wrist, waist and legs are all painted and carved out nicely. However they should have tilted the head towards this direction instead of the other direction to make it true to the art. It’s a waste but it’s still pretty!):dsc_4831.jpg

Close up side view (Ornaments on her neck can be seen at the back of her neck too!):DSC_4838

Front view (Overall she just look really pretty! Her Lightscale Trident is made prettily for an amiibo but the paint job could be better):DSC_4830

Close up front view (There’s an icon of her divine beast on her blue scarf. Her eyes are painted prettily and details on her ornaments can be seen clearly here):DSC_4837

Back view (The fish tail on her head is just so cute and the scarf is made really nicely! It looks like real fabric in this picture):DSC_4832

Finally the last character Revali is up! He’s the Champion of Rito, and pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh. He wields the Great Eagle Bow. He’s like someone who gives mixed feelings throughout the whole game lol. But I’ve came to like him in the end.

Main view/Front view (I think that among all the 4 amiibos, he is the most well sculpted and painted right after Daruk):DSC_5085

Side view (The red paint job around the area of his eyes is beautiful. The details on the shoulder pads can be seen clearly):dsc_4840.jpg

Back view (The blue scarf on his bow is so cute. Maybe it is there for him to tell the wind direction?):dsc_4842.jpg

Side view (The braids on his hair looks so pretty and it is carved out nicely. The paint job on the hairbands are done perfectly too. Carvings of his feathers can also be seen on his thighs):DSC_4841

Scarf view (This is an icon of his divine beast on his blue scarf and let’s just appreciate how flowy this scarf looks):dsc_4846.jpg

Each of them unlocks special items in Zelda: Breath of the Wild and some exclusive helmets for people who wants to collect all the gears in the game. I hope that after reading this post, you will consider getting the amiibo itself as it really isn’t that expensive instead of getting those fake cards with codes in them. They are about 20 SGD each and they are seriously GORGEOUS (*´▽`*)

Some of the parts on the figure have missing details for example the design on Urbosa’s sleeve. Also, some paint is spilling out from where it should be, but for the price, the paint job is considered very well done as compared to Funko POP which is around the same price as these amiibos. Funko figures doesn’t have extra functions unlike amiibos which you can scan on Nintendo consoles for in-game items.

*NOTE: I’m rating this specially as this an Amiibo review. If I used the same criteria as to rating figures, they would all fail this rating… probably*

Without further ado, let’s get on with the rating~

Paintwork: 9/10

Sculpt: 10/10

Attention to details: 9.5/10

Function: 10/10

Box score: 0/10 ( They are in the trash right now)

Affordability: Very affordable (20+ SGD)

Do I recommend this figure?: If you own a Nintendo device or Zelda BOTW or you just collects Amiibos for fun, you must DEFINITELY get them!

That’s all for now! Tar tar (´▽`o)ノ Have a good day.
